PRAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you ever thought about how important prayer is?  I used to think that prayer was one of those things that people just say, "I'll be praying for you", but nothing ever really became of it.

Even though my parents have been church going people their whole lives, we never gathered for prayer to pray about a problem or we never prayed together before a big event in any of our lives or prayed before we left for a trip.  I wonder why?

We prayed the same rhyming prayer my whole life at suppertime.  We didn't pray at breakfast or lunchtime.  I wonder why?  We prayed the Lord's prayer at night or "Now I lay me down to sleep..."

I never really learned how to pray until I married Phil.  He could rock your world with his prayers.  He wasn't raised in church.  He started going to church by himself when he was 16, when his mom died.  Jesus came into her room as she was dying and she introduced Him to everyone in the room.  She asked if anyone could see Him.  Everyone replied that they couldn't.  She described His beautiful face and His glowing robes.  If you weren't a believer before seeing that, I'm sure you had to be afterward!!

We at the Soul Food Market believe that prayer is an essential part to every moment of every day.  We are happy just to pray with you on the phone even if you don't place an order.  We pray as we bake, as well as, singing and dancing along to the Christian radio stations.

We carefully pick scriptures for everything that we wrap specifically for the event or prayer request you told us about.

Come visit us at the Soul Food Market, there's lots to read, smile and laugh about.

Because we know that this extraordinary day is just ahead, we pray for you all the time, pray that our God will make you fit for what he's called you to be, pray that he'll fill your good ideas and acts of faith with his own energy so that it all amounts to something. If your life honors the name of Jesus, he will honor you. Grace is behind and through all of this, our God giving himself freely, the Master, Jesus Christ, giving himself freely.  2 Thessalonians 1:11-12

Ooey-Gooey Butter Cookies! I like drinking Chocolate Slim fast with these. These have got to be one of the best cookies on earth!...Gooey Butter cake is a St. Louis Favorite. My sister-in-law, Nancy, gave me this recipe. This incredible buttery, sugary, creamy goodness, is sprinkled with powdered sugar before drizzling it's crown of white chocolate. Try a Baker's Dozen and share with someone who needs a hug.

Princess Caroline's Favorite

Princess Caroline's Favorite

I think of Monaco when I eat these. They're decadent, lavish and should be eaten by kings and queens - or you and me! When mixing this muffin-cake, we lightly fold raspberries into the buttery batter and then chocolate chips. We then fill it with raspberry almond cream cheese and drizzle it with semi-sweet chocolate. Order a Baker's dozen for someone you love! Tell them they're the best. You don't have to hop a plane to Europe for this one!
