Its origin dates back to ancient times and evidence has been documented in several cultures. Pictographs in Egypt show medical practitioner treating their patients. Hieroglyphics found in the tomb of Ankahamor, a physician whose influence politically second only to the king. Dr. William Fitzgerald introduced reflexology to the United States in the early 1900s.

Reflexology is a holistic science using the feet as a mini map of the body. Through the skillful application of pressure to specific points in the feet (or hands) you reduce stress, improve circulation and restore balance, helping the body return to a state of homeostasis. The skin is the largest organ of our body and is continually sending messages to the central nervous system (spinal cord and the brain) the messages go to the brain and then transmitted back to the area of initial touch. The whole body is encouraged to renew itself so that all functions are working in harmony. There are 26 bones and four curvatures in the feet, just as there are four curvatures in the spine and 26 vertebrae. A coincidence? I doubt it!

Since it promotes overall health, Reflexology is used as complementary care for people with a variety of conditions for example, it can help alleviate headaches reduce arthritic and back pain, decrease the symptoms of addiction withdrawal, ease the swing of premenstrual syndrome and reduce the symptoms of diabetes. It is amazing how precise pressure on specific areas of the hands or feet can eliminate congestion in the body.

Reflexology is for everyone it is preventative and therapeutic. Let us know how we can help you on your journey to better health.

Every year, just prior to the impending "flu season," the CDC and their acquiescent media pawns terrorize the American public with false claims regarding annual flu deaths. The CDC boldly asserts that 36,000 people die every year from the flu. Such scare tactics are calculated to increase flu vaccine sales. However, according to the CDC's own official records documented in National Vital Statistics Reports, only a few hundred people die from influenza (flu) on an average year.

And many of these deaths occur in people with preexisting conditions, weakened immune systems, and the elderly. For example, in 2002, 753 people died from the flu. The year before, in 2001, just 257 people died from the flu. (Fifty-nine percent of these deaths occurred in people 75 years or older; 75 percent occurred in people 55 years or older.)

To put these numbers in perspective, 3,454 Americans died from malnutrition in 2001 - 13 times greater than the number of flu deaths! That same year, there were 4,269 deaths attributed to asthma, a condition some studies have linked to vaccines. To rationalize this discrepancy between the true number of deaths caused by influenza every year (as documented in the CDC's own National Vital Statistics Reports) and the outrageously exaggerated bogus number of flu deaths promoted by the CDC, officials claim that flu often leads to pneumonia and that many deaths from pneumonia are really deaths caused by flu.

Apparently the CDC has a secret formula for estimating how many pneumonia deaths (officially listed in the CDC's own National Vital Statistics Reports as deaths from pneumonia, not flu) are really deaths caused by flu. Adding to the confusion, influenza is caused by a virus; pneumonia is caused by bacteria. The CDC's own website takes great pains to emphasize their differences. More importantly, the CDC has a pneumonia vaccine. So why doesn't the CDC promote their pneumonia vaccine?

In 2002, 65,231 people died from pneumonia; in 2001, 61,777 people died from pneumonia. If everyone took a pneumonia vaccine, especially the elderly and others most susceptible to the disease, wouldn't they be protected? Why is the CDC promoting a flu vaccine to protect against pneumonia, especially when one disease is caused by a virus and the other by bacteria?

Also, how many people who died from pneumonia received a flu vaccine? How many received a pneumonia vaccine? There are three main types of flu virus, and each type can mutate, or change, from year to year. Thus, there are literally thousands of possible strains. (Each strain is thoroughly analyzed and given a proper name, often a title associated with the place where it was initially discovered.)

Every year health officials produce a new flu vaccine containing three mutated strains of flu virus. To determine which strains to use, officials travel to China at the beginning of the year to assess circulating flu viruses in that region of the world. They try to guess which strains will reach the United States by the end of the year. Production begins, and the new vaccine is usually available by October.

Flu "experts" often guess wrong. For example, in 1994 they predicted that Shangdong, Texas, and Panama strains would be prevalent that year, thus millions of people were vaccinated with a flu shot that contained these viruses. However, when winter arrived, the Johannesburg and Beijing strains of influenza circulated through society. The vaccine was ineffective. This happened again in 1996, and again in 1997.

More recently, the vaccine created for the 2003-2004 flu season contained flu strains that did not circulate through society that year. Officials were once again forced to admit that millions of people were vaccinated with an ineffective vaccine. Yet, flu fatalities did not increase during these years.

For example, in 1996, 857 people died from the flu; in 1997, 745 people died from the flu - typical annual numbers. In 2004, flu vaccine manufacturers were unable to produce enough flu shots to accommodate everyone who wanted a flu vaccine. (Several batches were contaminated and had to be destroyed.) Thus, only half of the population that is normally vaccinated against influenza (approximately 45 million people versus 90 million during an average year) received the vaccine.

If influenza is truly a deadly disease, as officials claim, the 2004-2005 flu season should be catastrophic. If, as the CDC claims, 36,000 people die every year from the flu when 90 million people are vaccinated against the disease, how many more will die when only 45 million people are "protected?" I predict that flu fatalities will not increase. In fact, flu (and pneumonia?) fatalities may even decrease during this rare period when the American population is "under-vaccinated" against influenza.

Note: The article above was written in early 2005. On December 10, 2005, the British Medical Journal published a report acknowledging the veracity of this article by substantiating the claim that CDC flu death figures are completely bogus, hyper-inflated to scare the public and sell more flu vaccine.

A Love of Travel: Warning! Disney World Can Be Hazardous To Your Health...

WARNING: DISNEY WORLD CAN BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH...

that is if you have only 4 adults and 3 children in strollers who are three and under as we did in May. Each time we got on the transportation to the resort we had to fold the strollers (2), carry each kid, the diaper bag, the cooler with snacks, and the camera case. The strollers and kids were reassembled on arrival at the next place.

You need a lot of time, and in some cases, a lot of patience and fortitude to plan a successful Disney visit.

This
year, all the passes and packages have changed. Some parks open early,
some stay open late and sometimes there are special events in
conjunction with the early opening or late closing. It involves a lot
of strategic planning and we were all taking notes for two months prior
to the trip. Even though I have been to Disney World at least 15
times, and sold trips over the years to many clients, it was a learning
curve.

We wanted to insure that Ethan (1) Abigail (3) and Kayla
(1) got the most out of their four days. We went to every Princess
meal and Pooh breakfast possible, and they all require reservations way
in advance or they book up. They are not cheap either. We put the
twins in the large beds as they did not want to sleep in the
pack'n'plays Disney provides. (only 1 per room) We put chairs against
the side of the bed so they would not fall. We were able to get
adjoining rooms with 2 large beds each, so Ethan slept in our room.

Abigail
who is 3 did fall out of the bed and got a nasty bruise on her nose (we
later found out that they have bed rails), and she sleeps in a bed
without bedrails at home.

One park per day is enough for little
ones' parents who have to negotiate getting all the strollers and
paraphernalia from one park to the next.

By the fourth day we
just sort of sat around Epcot after our 10:00 Princess breakfast, too
tired to take the kids in and out of the strollers any more.

By
the way, bring an umbrella and ponchos so you won't be forced to buy
the pricey ponchos (which resemble garbage bags with Mickey on them)
Disney magically provides at the slightest drop of rain.

We suggest you stay longer than we did and allow the kids time for napping and unwinding in the pool.

The
last visit, with our older son and family, we were at the Grand
Floridian, before that the Buena Vista Palace, and now the All Star
Movies (Abigail requested the Dalmatian Section.) All star was just
fine, clean and nice for all the time we spent there. We also rented a
fridge, basically to keep a $2.99 cream cheese cold for our morning
bagels, bringing the total breakfast cost to about $47, $42.50 for the
fridge, but it saved time, which made it worthwhile.

With the
kids so young, there were shows and rides in each park they enjoyed
even if they did not understand them. Even so, MGM and EPCOT could be
eliminated for young children. Also, some attractions may scare little
ones. Abigail was terrified by the 3D shows when objects seemed to fly
out at her.

You need to devise a strategic plan at character
meals. The character is at the table for a couple of minutes, and it
is a challenge to get the autograph book signed and snap a picture (and
a video) with all three kids looking in the right direction.

We're
not complaining. We loved being with the children and now that they're
back in Ohio we wish we were all back at Disneyworld together.

Many happy returns,

Marci Zied, A Love Of Travel
770-345-8687

They don't realize that the daily activities of young children can easily result in subluxations.

In fact, many babies receive their first subluxations during pregnancy and the birthing process. Modern medical procedures such as the Cesarean section, the use of forceps, and induced deliveries put unnatural strains on the infant's delicate body.

Curing the Common Cold?

Do these drugs cure the common cold? No. The best they can do is temporarily stop the symptoms while the body works to regain its health. Yet, you'll often hear people rave about a particular drug. "It really knocked that cold right out of me," they'll exclaim. "I was sick as a dog and I took two of those pills and felt better the next day. Unfortunately, these people are confusing their symptoms with the actual dis-ease taking place in their bodies. They think that because the symptom is gone, the dis-ease is gone. Actually, a vital part of good health is the presence of a normal flow of energy through the body -- and that depends on eliminating any interference caused by subluxations.

Warning Signals

We need to realize that symptoms are the body's way of announcing that there is a problem. When everything in the body is functioning normally, we don't have headaches or stomach problems or back pains. If the smoke detector alarm in your home went off in the middle of the night, would you rush over and disconnect it? Once the noise was gone, would you go back to sleep again as if nothing had happened? Of course not. That's because you know that the alarm is NOT the problem. It's just a warning that a problem exists. The same is true for symptoms. Your body will often send out a warning signal -- a symptom -- to tell you that a problem exists. If you take a couple of pills to cover up the symptom, it's like disconnecting the alarm. You haven't solved the problem you've just silenced the alarm. That's why chiropractors don't attempt to mask or treat symptoms. Instead, they listen to the alarm and work to find the cause of dis-ease.

The Real Danger

Unfortunately, our bodies can't always warn us that there's a problem. Nerve interference can cause dis-ease without any outward sign. Chiropractors often see people who appear perfectly healthy. Yet, an examination will show that they have serious, long-term subluxations. Outside, everything seems fine. Inside, the interference is doing its damage. We can't ignore symptoms when they show up, but we can't afford to wait for them to show up before we see a chiropractor.

A Love of Travel: WeddingMoons

Today, Marci Zied of A Love of Travel will share about the affordable wedding options available in Jamaica, Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean.

More and more couples are planning weddings in Jamaica, Hawaii, Mexico
and other places, especially in the Caribbean. The bulk of them are
going to Jamaica because of reasonable prices for both the wedding and
the guests who attend. Many are going to Mexico as well. In both
places free weddings (often after a small government tax) are
available. They also offer vow renewals for special anniversaries such
as a 50th wedding anniversary.

At
one time, most of the people doing a Weddingmoon were married
previously. For some, especially divorced couples, they did not want
the same destination where they had the original honeymoon.

That
has changed and young people marrying for the first time understand the
value of having the people who they care most about and who care the
most about them in an intimate setting.

We had a big, expensive
wedding for our daughter and son-in-law with a large champagne and hors
de oeuvres reception in a beautiful social hall next to the sanctuary.
Then, we went to a Westin Hotel ballroom for a sit down dinner after
the bride and groom arrived by horse drawn carriage. Most of the
people that attended, are people that we have lost touch with and never
see.

It would have been so special to know that the people who
came cared enough about the couple to incorporate their wedding with
their family vacation.

The most popular resorts for this type of
thing are couples only resorts like Sandals since they are closely
allied with sister properties like Beaches Resorts for couples, singles
and families.

June 24 my husband, Ernie and I (I have to take my
accountant on my trips) will attend a destination wedding in Jamaica.
The couple originally wanted Nassau at Sandals Royal Bahamian. After
I scouted the various properties in person, we decided that Beaches
Negril would better suit their needs, continuing the honeymoon at
Sandals Whitehouse afterwards. Beaches enabled them to have guests at
no additional charge who were not couples. Some guests opted to stay
at Sandals Negril, a couples only resort with complimentary privileges
at Beaches only 5 minutes away. Those staying at other resorts must
pay a fee to come to the wedding at Sandals or Beaches.

Resorts
in Mexico are also reasonably priced. However, there are none that I
know of that are couples only. Some are adults only, which are
preferable for honeymooners. People with children have to stay
somewhere else and in some cases can pay a fee to attend the wedding..
Most are all inclusive resorts.

In most of the Caribbean, you need to be in the country at least 2 days before the wedding. In St. Lucia it is 3 business days.

Weddings
are free at several resorts, including Sandals and Beaches, which
require that the bride and groom stay a certain number of nights to
qualify. A few small amenities are included like a bouquet and
boutonniere, an official or minister, legal documents, a small cake,
and in most resorts a small reception for a handful of guests,
including champagne and canapes or hors de oeuvres

Usually there are items that are optional at a cost such as photos, music, etc., etc., etc.

Some
brides have even embellished their wedding with a wedding in a box
(silk floral arrangements from a local florist to take along). They
can even be designed in such a way that they can be given as keepsakes
for some or all of the guests to take them home (so the bride need not
cart them back).

Recently a bride ordered free "save the date"
invitations to let people know about the wedding and who to contact to
make arrangements to come.

The biggest obstacle is finding a
place reasonably priced, especially for guests, without additional
costs, and a place where the bride and groom can also have a romantic
honeymoon after the guests leave.

Another obstacle is the family
wanting the wedding at their church with their friends and business
associates. Some people are offended that they will have to spend
money to come to a wedding. However, those who love them the most will
be delighted as we were when we were invited by this client couple in
June, Bryan Edmondson and Amy Daddino. Even though it will take us out
of the office and cost money, we know it will be a warm loving
experience and one that we all will remember for a long time.

Many Happy Returns,

Marci Zied, A Love Of Travel
770-345-8687

A Love of Travel: Family Cruises

Dear Friends:
Are you experiencing frustration in your effort to
plan a vacation this summer? Peak travel times such as summertime are
heavily booked up 3 or 4 months in advance. Family-sized suites, cruise
cabins for more than two people are harder or impossible to find the
later you book.

There is a myth that there are last minute
specials all the time. However, there are limited accommodations,
perhaps the room type is sold out, there are not enough seats on
preferred flights, or the ship has closed reservations for over two in
a cabin.

What are your options? Well a cruise is probably more
abundant than anything else, especially if you can take two cabins for
your family and they do not have to connect. Seven day cruises from
Miami or Fort Lauderdale are your best bet. Universal Florida or
Disney World are options. If your preferred rooms are not available,
there are great places offfsite that are usually available with free
shuttles (about a 10 minute ride) to the resorts.

One family
had never stayed anywhere at Disney World except the upscale Grand
Floridian. Unfortunately they booked late for Spring break and nothing
on site was available. They went to an off site property 2 miles
away. When they returned they said it was great. For about a third of
the rate they had more room, a refrigerator and microwave, and VIP
service. The only thing not included was the meals at the park. Also,
when you stay off site and have passes included, any unused portion
does not expir and can be used at another time. If you can find rooms
on site, you can get a dream maker that includes either 2 or 3 meals
per day, or other park services, or merchandise (limited to certain
items). We did get the dream maker when we went in April and found the
dining options and menus exceptional.

Late booking to Mexico
may be a good choice on scheduled air rather than charters, especially
on midweek flights. Canada is also a good choice. It is one of my
favorite countries to visit for its beauty, interesting cities and
abundant recreation. Where else can you find elk grazing next to your
hotel entrance?

If you are traveling with other families or with friends, you may have to choose different flights and room accommodations

Good
luck with your summer plans. Now is the best time to book those school
breaks in the Fall and holiday weeks. That will insure the best
choices and price.

Canton Wellness Center: How strong is your foundation

The structure of your spine is like the foundation of your house. If the slab under your house cracks or was poured unevenly, the drywall will crack, the floors become uneven and squeak, tiles crack and pop, the doors jam up and the windows may become drafty. With time, a house with a weak foundation will wear out faster, which means it will need to be replaced sooner.

An abnormal spinal structure will also wreak havoc and continue to degenerate at a faster and faster rate if nothing is done to fix it. The stronger your spinal foundation is the better your body will function and feel.

Our Complete Structural Examination determines the status of your spinal foundation. This includes: Structural x-rays, digital structural analysis and orthopedic and neurological testing.

We already discussed the Four Signs we are looking for on the structural x-rays. After the structural x-rays are complete we use Digital Structural Analysis to compare our x-ray findings with the visible postural shifts in your structure. We finish with orthopedic and neurological tests determine the extent of functional and neurological deficits that are produced by your structural abnormalities.

We can rebuild a collapsing home, but we can't replace a spine. Our Complete Structural Exam is the best way to determine the strength of your foundation.

So, let's say, for example, you are diagnosed with a case of Anterior Head Syndrome, which is causing major tension and headaches in your case. Our office is going to focus on correcting your abnormal cervical spinal structure, to reduce the stress and strain on all the structures of the neck, including muscles, tendons, ligaments, discs, bones, spinal nerves and the spinal cord. That's a lot of different structures under a lot of stress.
